Default Convert Front/Rear AC to Front Only?

Hi, I have a 95 Grand Caravan 3.3 V6 with front & rear AC. I believe I have a leak in the suction/liquid hose assembly and the part is hard to find and expensive (~$400+). Does anyone know if it is possible to abandon the rear AC and convert to front AC only (I do not use the rear AC hardly at all). If it is possible what parts are needed (?? suction & liquid hose assembly, discharge & liquid hose assembly, filter/dryer, expansion valve??)?

Also, does anyone know if the refrigerant oil is an ester or PAG oil (& what viscosity)?

Thanks & I appreciate any assistance.

Your best bet is to have someone who makes lines to cap off the 2 lines where they split off at the front expansion valve and run down the firewall. Don't forget to fill the freon to amount for front only.

If it comes down to blocking off the rear a/c because there is a leak in rear evaportator or rear expansion valve then go to this link: http://www.streetrodguys.com/.

It is modification caps system and there are others if you look around on internet. Because evaporator and rear expansion valve cost about 500.00 if you let someone do the work. that was my cost. if i know what i know now, i would blocked off the rear and did it myself.

Why would you want to block off back a/c if the leak is in the hose/line. Does it have anything to do with leak in rear side?
