New PCM, flash, Key has Alarm integrated
Hello everyone, I'm new here and have a few questions. I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L V6. I'm replacing the PCM of the car, I have a VERUS 11.2 software, Passthru pro II and a techauthority subscription. Also, the Key to the car has the alarm integrated.
I have done Flashing for Chevy cars, but they give u the option to program the anti theft after u program the PCM so the engine can start. Also, the Security light turns off after this.
My question is: Do I need to program the anti theft as well for my car after I Flash the PCM? Will the key give me problems if I don't program the anti theft or security of the car? If I do need to get into the Security of the car, are the tools I have enough to get into the Security if needed? Any help will be appreciated. I can answer questions as well since I'm home right now. :-D

Welcome to the forum, I hope we can help. When you replace a PCM on a Dodge with SKIM (programmable key), information needs to be transfered from the SKIM module to the PCM or it will not start. Your scan tool will not have the ability to do that as far as I know. There is a code you need to enter to access it that requires the Chrysler data base or the sheet with the key codes from when the vehicle was delivered. I still don't think aftermarket scan tools have access to the SKIM system.
