Side door open 4 way flash
On my dodge grand caravan 2007 When the sliding door opens the 4 way flashers come on as a factory setting. The manual says to disable this hold the lock button for 5-10 seconds while holding the lock button push the unlock button and release both at the same time. I am assuming these buttons are on the remote control. It doesn't work however and i have also tried the reverse of the above. The horn on lock i was able to disable. Is this a common problem or am i missing something.
Thanks in advance.
HAHA I found the solution, my manual is wrong. Somewhere else in this forum somebody posted the correct procedure.
Sliding Door Open Flash
When the sliding door(s) are opened, the left and right
exterior hazard lights will flash for 12 seconds to alert
other drivers in the area that passenger(s) could be
entering or exiting the vehicle.
The Sliding Door Open Flash can be enabled or disabled
by performing the following procedure:
1. Place the key in the ignition switch.
2. Cycle the ignition switch ON/OFF four times ending
in the OFF position. (do not start the engine)
3. Within 10 seconds of the final cycle, press the hazard
switch.
4. A single chime will sound to signify that you have
successfully completed the programming.
You can turn the feature back on by repeating the above
mentioned procedure or by performing the procedure in
the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), Customer
Programmable Features section on vehicles so
equipped.
Thanks in advance.
