Default temp gauge

98 plymouth grand voyager with 3.3 engine. the issue: just shortly after van is started & driven (10-20 min) temp gauge starts to climb & pegs out on "H". temp light on dash comes on & chime starts to beep. The kicker, van IS NOT overheating. can drive all day like this (plays with your head though). once the temp guage gets to about the last line before th "H" the a/c shuts down (live in Phoenix, need a/c). after awhile, the temp gauge will drop back to midway on guage & a/c will come back on, then climbs again. replace temp sending unit on top of manifold behind thermostat...no change. every thing appears to be working in the cooling system, fans, thermostat ect...at a loss, any ideas?

Welcome to the site. I moved the thread to the Caravan section,
FF

If you can have someone with a DRB3 to calibrate the gauges and check the temp reading, this may give you some answers. Also check the wire harness under the throttle body. Make sure its not near the exhaust manifold.
