Maybe their is a correlation between transmission problems, manufacture date, manufactured location and where your ride was purchased (maybe certain builds are sold in Canada and other for USA export?). So, - how about jumping over to TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS - Date/Location of Manufacture Survey! and let us know...

Angry

So today I walk outside and hit the remote start button on the van (figured I would get the AC going while I get some things out of the garage), not more than 2 seconds after starting a pop and large cloud of white smoke blew out of the bottom of the van! The van shut itself down right after and I have no idea where it came from. I got inside and started the van and everything seemed fine, air works, no engine codes etc....but the auto start now starts the van and shuts it off right away. I'm taking it in tomorrow, very disappointed... 2,700 miles on the clock. I've also developed a whistling noise while on the highway coming from the windshield.

Thumbs down Update !!!

Alright guys... Ready for this ?

Parts changed so far :
1 Transmission
1 ECU
1 Gaz pedal asembly + Sensors
2 oil filters in transmission
1 Transmission control module
-> This is only for the transmission ****ing problem.

Longer camber adjusting bolts for the alignment problem. This problem was solved by loosing up the whole front end, from wheels to motor mounts... Everything...Then they realigned it and it was accpetable.

Total Milleage 16900 KM

So I picked up my van last Friday. Test drove it, shifting was fine. did 120 KM and then I felt something leaving a corner.... I drove around Canmore in AB to see whats was up....welll, every single shift from first to second gear I could feel the shuttering. I had to pull over at one point because the smell coming from the transmission was quite strong ....So it did it all week end. I brought the car back to the dealership again today....test drove it with the service manager to figure that when the shuttering wasnt there, there was a good hesitation in between the first and second gear. which wasnt there before.

Also, when I left my place, I put the card on D, gave her gas...Nothing...just spinning free then the shuttering...then was going forward.

I called chrysler back : THEY HAD CLOSED MY CASE!?!?!?!?!
I asked to talk to Marguaret, the lady looking after my case...She didnt want to talk to me....LOL....

I hung up and called CAMVAP.

At the dealership I talked to the head sales people and told them : You guys purchase my van back for whats left to pay on it and Ill turn around and get another one from you guys.

They are trying to find me another van as we speak....

In the mean time, I have a Dodge charger 2010 /leather...which is better than the calibers I had that i put a total of 6800 KM on

Again, Ill keep you guys updated...

Thanks for this interesting story; how Dodge handles it makes it more so. What is the CAMVAP?

Default Update

So just got our van back after a week in the shop for these items:
1. Wind noise drivers side at highway speeds. This they worked on all week and though better, still there. They removed the weather stripping and reapplied, also compared to new ones. I'm going to have to take it back again.
2. Remote start issue with pop and smoke. They said wouldn't do it for them but may have been the AC system over pressurized and releasing pressure...ya so I don't think any car should do that, especially not with my pregnant wife in it. Anyway I get it home and remote start and it starts and shuts off almost immediately. Wife says it has done this before (now she tells me)....anyway, have to bring it back for that too.
3. Trans noise, like a whining down, (sounds like George Jetson's car) best way I describe and happens when slowing mostly at lower RPM's. Dealer acknowledges noise, but drove 2 others that were on the lot and said they do it too. For now, I'll let this go till I have more issues.
4. Loud clank first start of AC, they say its the compressor and though it's loud they say it is normal...

Anyway, dealer has been very accommodating, but I'm really upset to have so many issues with less than 3,000 miles on a 3 month old vehicle. I bought the new one to get the new motor, and other updates but maybe I should have bought used if I was going to have issues anyway. I will say I love the van, don't hate the bugs. That's is my update for now, as more service is performed I will add more to this thread.

For what it's worth, I think my 2011 Express does the same "wind down" noise that yours does when I'm slowing down. I have no transmission issues that I've noticed, mind you, but I have noticed that sound.

Hopefully it is "normal." Are there any Chrysler/Dodge Tech guys around who can comment? Is this simply the way the transmission operates? What is causing the sound, specifically?

For you my friend : http://www.camvap.ca/

Alright guys, Today I got mad.

Camvap called me back, they cannot procces my case because my van is a Commercial vehicule for my computer business. They only do personal use vehicule.

I went back to my dealer to tell them the latest news, should have seen their face. They knew what was coming.

I made myself really clear, Offered them a deal.

They called me back tonight with a small counter offer which I accepted right away.

Tomorrow morning I'm going there to look at the paperwork, choose the location of my new van ( 3 available throughout alberta )

I will go and pick up myself ( that's my condition ), that way I can do a good road trip before I put my name on the paperwork.

THEN I will sign if satistied.

Good thing is that I will now have DVD entertainment option for FREE pretty much.

Some people may say : WHY ARE YOU GOING BACK TO DODGE ??
Answer : If I try to exchange my van anywhere else, they will road test it and figure that the tranny is ****ed and give me nothing for it. Also, I have Dodge tattooed onn my heart...

SO ! Looks like tomorrow or friday I will be going to get my new van and by the week end I should have my new van !
