Intermittent Starting Problem (2001 Caravan)
I hate to post another "starting problem" thread, but I looked through the forum and did not see anybody with the same symptoms.
Our 2001 Grand Caravan (3.3 flex fuel) starts and runs great after 120,000+ miles. We drive it everywhere and really enjoy it. It runs like a champ, smooth as can be! However, about once a month, after around town driving the engine will crank but not turn over. After several tries the van eventually starts. After this happens we can go on about our business for weeks or months until it happens again. There are no lights nor are there any codes in the system according to my scanner. Any ideas (map sensor? crankshaft sensor?)?
It is driving me a little crazy. Any ideas are welcome.

Too intermittent to do anything but throw money and parts at it and that gets expensive. Try to wait till it gets worse if it ever does. Next time listen for the fuel pump to turn on for just a second when you turn the key to run. Should hear a momentary hum then nothing. Pull a plug wire off, stick a screw driver in it, short it to the valve cover and check for a spark as you crank it. Other than that as far as the sensors go - all the above and more.
