Default 00gcv hesitates and cuts out while driving

Ok, this has me a little stumped. Started a few days ago. When you drive, the engine momentarily cuts but keeps running. I can watch the RPM drop very slightly.

It has 2 trouble codes that have been stored for years.. P0403 and P0601

Idles perfect. The van has 2475xx miles.

Any ideas?

update: took it for a spin last night.. pulled the codes again today and it's getting a P1391

It developed this clunk noise in the past few days as well. The engine clunks when you engage the starter.. also clunks when you shut it of. I can get it to clunk by giving it a quick stab of the throttle.

Doing some internet research, perhaps it's the flexplate. Any ideas?

If you searched the net you probably found the same description with numerous Caravan's...

update: my hunch was confirmed. As I was removing the flex plate to TC bolts I could make the flex plate clunk. The FP is severed at the hub. Now on with the task of removing this greasy old transmission.
