2001 Caravan Question...

2001 Caravan Question...
I have a 2001 caravan with 100,700 miles on it. I changed my oil at about 99,000 and my friend looked in my hood today just to see how it looked (he's 19) and he said the oil looked old... is that possible? I changed it less than 2,000 miles ago and i was always told it's supposed to be changed every 2,500 or 3,000 miles... so is he seeing something wrong or do i have a problem?

my oil usually is fairly dark by 3k miles, as long as it is not loosing oil/running low should be ok,
is the van new to you?
if it was used when you bought it do you know how often the oil was changed by previous owners, if the previous owner changed the oil say at 6k intervals there could be more deposits in the engine and it would darken earlier
I change my oil 3k, with mobil 1 synthtic
but I am not an expert, just my thoughts
