New 2011 Sirius Sounds "Tinny"
Hi, I'm new here. I just got a 2011 Dodge Caravan Crew. We've had it for a few months now, and it seems like the Sirius Satelite stations are very "tinny" sounding. I don't know how to describe it, it just doesn't sound very full or rich.
I played with the equilizer, I played with the balance, nothing seems to help. I even thought it might just be the way it sounds in a caravan, but I was listening to regular radio and even some songs I put on the hard drive and they sound better.
I called Sirius, they reset the signal, but it still sounds "tinny" or echo-ey.
Does anyone else have that issue ? Is it just the way the van is, is it the radio ? The Sirius receiver ?
Should I go to the dealership to get it replaced or looked at ? I would consider subscribing to Sirius once the free trial is over, but not if its going to sound like this.
Sidenote: we rented the same model 2011 dodge caravan crew on a trip to florida. We had it for 11 days, and I never remember saying "boy that sounds tinny" or playing with the settings, so I'm thinking it's the Satelite receiver maybe.
I know I could have worse problems than this, but when you spend alot of money on a new vehicle you want everything to work right, and something just doesn't seem right sounding.
Thank- you for any insight.

I never noticed that and I listen to my Sat all the time. I would suggest you run up to Dodge and sit in another 2011. If that one doesn't sound "tinny" - I would walk over to Service, bring out a Service Representative, have the Represent listen to both rides and schedule an appointment.
