Caravan brake caliper bracket torque specifications
Anybody know the torque specifications for my two TRW brake caliper bracket bolts? The manual doesn't say.

P.S. Sorry, 2001 Dodge Caravan, 3.3 liter engine, drum brakes in the back

Just tighten it down real good, but not too much. It is a simple thing to do if you take into consideration the thread size, and bolt size, and also what the bolt is threaded into.

Or 26 ft lbs.

Thanks folks, but I'm wasn't talking about the Caliper guide pin bolts. Sorry for the confusion. For what it's worth, my manual says 35 foot pounds for those on my 2001 Dodge Caravan.
Looking at Tizzy1's diagram -- which shows different pins since my bottom ones are shorter and have a seal -- I'm talking about the adapter mounting bolts. I had to take them off to get the front rotors off. These bolts are hefty and I needed a cheater bar. I cranked them back on tight -- as MoparMan1991 suggested -- but can't find the specs for my peace of mind. I suspect I can find something based on the bolt size. I'll look into that. |
you could always just use a little drop of loc-tite and then re tighten.

That was copied from the '01 factory service manual, here's the addaper torque.......

That's great, Thanks Tizzy1. That matches pretty close with the torque specs I found for the bolt, a 10.9 14M.
