2007 Caravan Caliper Question
I have a 2007 Grand Caravan, last night I noticed a crazy bump. So when I got home I took off the wheel, and discovered that the top calliper bracket bolt was loose, and the bottom one was completely gone! Of course the dealer doesn't have any! I'm going to the local "Pull-a-Part", and wondering if anyone knows if one of the following years has the same caliper bracket, so I'll know that the bolt will be the same. 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 02 This is the years they have in stock. Will one of these be the same? Thanks for all the help.
not an idiot, just inexperianced in crucial repair details. I torque those bolts with a torque wrench as they are a crucial fastener.
when you go on your quest for missing part, take one with you to ensure an exact match. also probably would be a good idea to check the other side. AND make sure you torque the lug nuts to 100ftlbs this is also a CRUCIAL fastener.

Alright, the local pull it yourself place didn't have it. The 02's had a different brake set up. Had to go across the state line to a dealer that had it in stock. But not even they knew what the tourqe specs would be for the caliper bracket bolt. Any ideas?
I find it hard to believe a junkyard didn't have one minivan that you could have pulled a bolt and compared to what you needed. it doesn't necessarrily need to come from the exact same year make model, you just might find the same bolt on a different vehicle.
I don't see anywhere on that list where is says brake caliper bracket to spindle torque spec (most cases it's upwards of 100ftlbs)
I can't believe the dealer doesn't have the torque spec!!!! they have shop manuals!

22mopar22 - Nope they didn't have one. The newest Dodge or Chrysler Van they had was 2002. And the caliper bracket was "built" into the spindle, for lack of a better term. And I wasn't going to spend all day looking at everything else to find a replacement when the dealer 30 minutes away from there had it in stock for only $2.95 w/ tax.
