Default 2003 Grand Caravan ES, 148K

hello all, new here, need some help. I found a beautiful, totally clean and loaded GC ES with 148K for $5000. Is this a safe buy? It was a fleet vehicle for an electric coop, so it has hwy miles. Appears to be well maintained, exceptionally clean, everything works. My only concern is a strong vibration at hwy speed. having it checked out tomorrow. I am new to Dodge and am also considering a 2004 Toyota Sienna at 2x the cost with the same features based on Japanese reliability.

Til the accelerator sticks

'03 was a great year for the minivan, vibration is probably the tires.

I was told the van sat in the lot for about a year and wasnt driven. Coming from two nissans and two hondas, I am quite impressed with it. What kind of life expectancy should it have as long as I maintain it?

I have an '03 now with around 150K and expect to double that. Had a '91, 2 '93's and a '95 all with well over 250K. The '91 was a 4 cyl and I would have gotten 400 with that if it hadn't gotten rear ended and totaled out.

took it to get inspected today. no leaks, front end was fine, tranny and oil looked good. needs tires, theyre dry rotted. as I am going to make the deal, I decide to check the AC, blowing hot air. argh. I let the owner know, and he says he is going to fix it, but I now have my doubts. He told me to check back with him mid week next week after the body work is done. I dont want a bandaid fix where it will break again. He fessed up that he knew it was broke, but thought it was seasonal since it was cold out. I may walk away.
