I just put a new fuel pump in and its running great once its started, fuel pressure is runnig 50 psi. but as soon as I shut it down the pressure bleeds down to zero within 10 seconds. When the key is turned to Run the fuel pump runs for less than a second and builds up about 5 psii but that will bleed down quickly. If I go immediatly past Run to Start it will start just fine....otherwise I need to crank it about 4 times to get it to kight off.
This is my hang up, I actually bought a fuel pump for a 97 but was told its the same thing, looks identical but Im wondering if there is something different about the 98 that causes this problem.
Any ideas?
