We had a lot of rain today, while driving home my battery light came on and mt temp gauge almost went all the way up and my power stering went out unless i pressed the gas alot.

I guess my belt was slipping. The power stering also goes out when I run it through a carwash but it soon comes back after it drys.

Do you think a new belt will fix it or is there more problems.

Probably a Belt and Tensioner. Your belt lost tension somehow. You'll just have to remove the belt and see which pulley is broken.

 

It could be the belt but more likely it could be the tensioner has gotten weak. I think I would replace both.

 

Replace the tensioner & the belt. But more likely replace all pulleys...
