Default 2009 Caravan issue

Hi all, just signed up and haven't been able to find this problem described anywhere...

I'm having an issue in that my ABS, traction control and brake dash lights are all on. At the same time, my cruise control stopped working altogether. The van handles fine, I don't think there actually is an issue with the brakes.

We had the brakes replaced at midas (front and back with rotors) only a month ago. Everything was fine for the first couple of weeks, then these lights came on. They went off after turning the van off, but came back on after fairly heavy braking (nothing too hard, I almost missed a turn, but no 'slamming' of the brakes) and now they stay on. But the strange thing is, the cruise stopped working at the same time.

Any thoughts / suggestions on what to look at? Or do I just have to take it in?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

You may have lost a wheel sensor. Without putting a scanner on it to get the codes there's little to do except do a visual inspection on the sensors looking for any road debris or mud that may be blocking the sensor pickup or chaffed wire harness. Fuses good? Don't take chances. Get it fixed pronto.

Thanks - should it go to the dealership, or can the place that did my brakes handle it? They're a pretty big chain...

The dealership is not very close to us.

It depends. There are some midas with good mechanics, there are some only good for oil changes.
Why don't you call them and ask. If they charge about the same price for diagnostic as the dealership, hit the dealership.
Some dealership would lower their price to match independent shops to get customer into the door, like the one I work for. Doesn't hurt to ask.

get the codes and test they performed with a report, if you do not feel comfortable with their offers to fix it, we are here to help. If they say all you need is a wheel speed sensor and that's the only code you get, then the sensor is most likely your problem.
