Default Exhaust noise from 04 caravan

Experiencing a lot of what I would say is exhaust noise from 3.3l V6 04 caravan for the past month or so. Noise certainly gets worse when it gets warmer.
The noise is coming from more towards the engine and the odd thing is that it is present when idling at a light and if you go into neutral it disappears, comes back when you shift back into drive.
I have checked the hangers and the muffler itself, no rubbing or contact with the body or rust etc. Flex joint looks ok.

Have recently replaced plugs, water pump, water inlet pipe, PCV valve and the regular oil change. Don't think any of this is related but maybe.

Any thoughts? manifold issue? Would like to sort this out with out taking it in but I don't have any great ideas and where to look for the problem.
Thanks

One trick I read about was to cover the exhaust tailpipe with a gloved hand as the engine runs. This builds up back pressure forcing the exhaust to exit where any leak may be. This increases the noise at the leak making it easier to detect. Might give it a try.
