Pulling the alternator on my 07 to replace the OAD pulley. I don't understand how to release that connector with the 2 wires. I don't want to break it for sure.... does that red slider lock the connector?

Is there any space infront of the pulley in order to remove it without removing alt. from van?

There as not. I had to remove the unit, but I was unable to get the pulley off. BTW, I was able to google "dodge electrical connectors" and found a nice writup on the connectors and locks.
