Default 99 plymouth voyager shifting problem

Voyager wont shift gears "Limp mode" dont know what happened, I was driving it just fine. I stopped for a couple hours, when I came out and went to leave I had no gauges at all and it wouldnt shift, I babied it home. The next day after work I went out and looked at it and the Gauge fuse was blown (10a) so I replaced it and drove it around everything was fine... Drove it all the next day too with no problems... The day after that I went to go and it did same thing, so I thought hah I know its this fuse no problem, except the fuse was fine, I did change it just in case with no luck. I have had it looked at, at first the guy said Speed Sensor (output) so I put one on, speedo worked for about 15min and then nothing, it still would not shift. I took it to a reapair shop, when they hooked it to computer they said it has no communication with the main computer to the trans. computer, and I needed to take to a tranny shop... So I took it to a Tranny Shop, they looked at it and also said no communication with trans. They tried another computer with no luck, said it sounded like a broken wire going from main computer to trans computer, but would cost $200 to look for it and then more for the repair.. I cant afford that, I'm not so sure the van is worth that much anyway... so now I'm wanting to get out there and see if I can find a broken wire and fix this thing, now that my RAM broke down and I have no vehicles running... Where would I start looking for broken wires?... Also when I do the dash codes I get 2-23-55... cannot find anything on 2... dont know what that means? Is that the computer #? anything I can try myself to determine what the problem is? thanks for any help

First step? Head to an AutoZone or the like and have your codes read with a scanner. It's free.

Sounds like you could have an all too common fault associated with 3rd generation (1996-2000) vans. The solder joints attaching the connector to the instrument cluster circuit board get stress fractures opening up the CCD data bus circuit. When that happens seemingly unrelated symptoms pop up. You'll have to remove the cluster, remove it's circuit board, flip it over and reflow the solder connections securing the connector to the board. The good thing? It's nearly a free repair.

Go here and download the file. It shows you how to remove the cluster and make the repair: http://www.4shared.com/document/ymiA...er_repair.html

so after more research on this issue, its looking like maybe the solenoid pack might need replacing... i took the connector off the solenoid and there was tranny fluid inside the connection, probably not a good thing... also read that there are some newer revisions of the solenoid...

ok so i was wrong, the speedo has quit working again... so perhaps when i had it out re-soldering it with the battery disconnected it reset it to work for a lil bit and now has resorted back to not working.... grrrr
