Default ignition problem

My son has a 03 caravan with some strange problem. He has replaced the PCM and repaired the injector harness (melted wires). the van runs now but runs very rough. This is an improvement over not starting at all. he getting a cade for a misfire and still gets a code for an injector problem. I had him remove the plug from the cylinder that is still throwing a code. With the plug out and grounded the spark is very rapid like 3 or 4 time faster than any other plug. This is only happening on one cylinder, the one with the code. Has anyone seen this sort of problem?

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I forgot to find out what engine size. It is a 6 cylinder flex fuel type the codes are P0202 p0302. My understanding is he found the harness problem after he replaced the PCM. However, with the old PCM the engine would not start, with the new PCM at least the engine starts now. Runs bad, but starts.

Well, a shorted wire could Kill the new PCM. double check wire, and Check for Pulse signal from PCM for the cyln 2 injector harness with test light. If No Pulse signal is found, you probably blew the New PCM.
Luckily cyln 2 is in front back, easy to get to.
it is possible that the Injector is bad, causing the Harness to melt. Might want to replace the injector as well before you throw another PCM in.

Thanks to all of you for your input. The PCM is being sent back to the manufacture to be tested. I'm going to check the harness before he puts another PCM in. I'll let you know how it all turns out. May take a few weeks to get PMC back and so on.
