Default 2008 grand caravan ves issues and rear end noise

Hello all! I am the not so proud owner of a 2008 Dodge Grand caravan and I was wandering if anyone could provide some insight. I am having a few issues. I have the VES with DVD and dual screens with satillite radio. The back screen will not come on at all, its like there is no power to it and the front screen will only come on if the back screen is lowered and when the back screen is shut the power cuts off from the front screen. Also, there is a horrible clanking noise comming from the passenger rear end. We have replaced both shocks and that did not help. It is very odd because the clanking stops when I press the brakes, even lightly. I am at a loss!

The noise, I am going to say u need rear brake check. Sometimes those Retainers for brake pad corrodes out and falls off, creating rattling sound.
If you step on the brake pedal and it goes away, 90% of the time it is the brake pads. And rock on the parking brake cable too. Sometimes the Retainer hook for the cable comes loose.
I am pretty sure it will be something simple.

Regarding the VES, I am going to say you probably need a Radio. But you'll have to verify that with a technician who can look into your car with the Factory Diagnostic equipment.
These Factory DVD system can get pretty expensive, might to cheaper to replace with an Aftermarket unit.

Thank you for your reesponse. The dodge house just called and said that the rear end noise is the sliding door latch assembly! How can that be!!!!! It sounds like the back wheels are going to spin off. Oh well, they can replace that and when I pick it up tomorrow I suppose I will be taking it right back. So frusterating!

as said before the ves is run off the system and has some comunication to the car bus. it will need a scan tool to investigate the issue. now what u could do is if one unit is working you could try to switch the 2 rear screens. i assume both are the same. i only have one in mine, the screen i am assuming probably has a end switch in it to show when its open or closed.
