Default Refrigerators in Caravans

Hi all,
I have been reading this forum with interest as I am going to be buying a 2011-2012 Caravan very soon. One of the things I want to do is put a small or medium-sized portable fridge in it. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as brands/sources, placement, power source. Did you install a 2nd battery?

Thanks for any input!

Have not this yet, but i need to do the same thing,

So far dual batteries with battery isolater is the best way to go, with a DC refridgerator ( expensive but better than a inverter )

granted both batteries( the main and second battery) it's recomended should be exactly the same type, brand, however i was looking at installing the biggest marine battery in a
custom fabricated tray.

I was also going to add solar power ( nothing but sun in florida most of the time ) but a good quality solar charger is also recomended don't trust
harbor freight for the solar charger, panels maybe. Lot's of videos on you tube about dual battery set ups.

Hope this helps

I forgot to mention you should use a deep cycle marine battery preferably a gel cell battery if budget allows.
