The light is telling you a computer has detected a fault and is storing a fault code. You need to head to the dealer where they will connect a scanner and determine what code is lighting the light. The code will determine what system is failing. On the way to the dealer watch for anything that doesn't look or act right and report it.

Is that the exact same thing as a service engine soon light or is it different?

Uh boy. Before I put my foot in it let me explain. You are calling it a "MIL" light which is a generic term used for the light that indicates a code is stored on any vehicle. Another is "CE" or check engine light. Chrysler has called that light an "SES" light or "CE" light in the past. The acronyms are often intermingled in discussions. I know little about the 5th generation vans in that regard so can't say for sure if you have multiple lights or just the one. What does your manual say? What does your symbol look like? Is it spelled out?
