I'm looking to replace the Power Control Module on a 2008 caravan with a used unit. Is this a simple plug and go deal or do I have to have the used unit reprogramed in some way. My first concern is the electronic key. Will the key need to be reprogramed to match the new control unit. Any other issues that I should be aware of?

 

I'm totally against using used PCM's. Seems to cause way more problems than they fix. That aside, The PCM will need to be programmed and information stored in the key module (WCM) will have to be transfered to the PCM. The keys should be fine since the WCM is not being changed. I have had issues with used PCM's where the vin cannot be programmed, then you are sol. Until the units are reprogrammed, the van will not start if you have programmable keys.
