Default First time doing drum brakes

So I need to do the back brakes on my 2000 Caravan. I think I got it pretty well figured out, except for the adjustment on the brakes. How does some one adjust them, are they self adjustable etc....? Pics would be helpful too.

There is a oblong plug on the back side of the housing. Pry it loose and use a flat screw driver to turn the star wheel just inside. You may need to use a brake adjusting tool or a bent screw driver to do the adjustment.

I am not sure on your 2000 but on my '04 the rear brakes are adjusted with the use of the parking brake. I have adjusted the rears by holding the brake release and pumping the parking brake.

If they have NO adjustment screw then you use the emergency brake .Put it on then remove it. Usually puting it in revere will also adjust them.
