For awhile now the interior lights in my van don't work when pressed. The lights work when the car is off and the dimmer wheel is in a certain position. The bulbs are good. Some say this is issue is due to a faulty body control module.

Any truth to this? Is there something else to check?

 

First, to clarify, you're saying the reading lamps, those that you push on the lens to turn on above each seat aren't turning on correct? The courtesy lamps, those that turn on when you open a door (many shared with the reading lamps) are working correct?

BCM? Yes could be. It supplies voltage to the reading lamps. Remove the IOD fuse in the IPM (fuse box) for 2-3 minutes.This will reset the BCM.
