Default 2008 Grand Caravan SXT 4.0L rear brake job (1st time DIYer)

I have a 2008 Grand Caravan SXT 4.0L. For some reason, I guess both rear brake calipers had seized to the point that the brake pads that are next to the piston wore down to about 1/8th inch. The pads on the opposite side are almost brand new!

The crazy thing is that the rear brakes factory OEM. In other words, this is the very first time the rear brakes are being serviced. My guess would be that this was something that was an issue from the factory.

Anyhow, I decided that I would do the brakes myself. The dealership wanted $300 and the cheapest I could find a shop to do them was for $180 (this isn't counting the scamming Brake Team's $88 offer). I've watch my friends do brake jobs and I've watched enough YouTubes that I grew confident.

So far, it's been rather easy. Now, I'm in the process of putting everything back together and I realize I need some information!
  1. I was hoping someone could provide me with the torque specs for the slider pin pinch bolt (or are they called caliper guide pin bolts?) for the rear calipers on my 2008 Grand Caravan SXT 4.0L. I haven't seen anything specific for my particular year but I did see some for a 2006 listing 35 N-m (26 ft. lbs.). But 2008 is when they redid the Caravan, so things are different now, right?
  2. Also, there are two additional bolts that held the whole brake assembly to the wheel (I have no idea what it's called, but I think they are called adapter mounting bolts). I had to remove this part just so I could get the rear rotors out to resurface them. I would like torque specs for these as well.
  3. I would also like to confirm that the wheel lugs are to be torqued to 95-100 ft. lbs.
  4. Finally, I wish someone could point me to a very inexpensive (used) Service Manual for my vehicle. I think I saw one online that has 5 volumes for about $160. Did the Service Manual for my vehicle come in 5 volumes? Is this a good deal? There also seems to be a CD-ROM version for $206 direct from MoPar. Does the CD-ROM have everything the print one has? If so, this would be my preferred medium. However, I was hoping for something cheaper. Anyone have a used CD-ROM that I could purchase for really cheap?

So, until I get a Service Manual cheaply, is there someone that already has one that is kind enough to provide me with these three torque specs?

My car is on jacks and it's the only car that can haul all 7 of us around this weekend...

Shameless bump...

Just 3 torque specs needed confirmed:

1. caliper guide pin bolts (26 ft. lbs.?)
2. caliper carrier (assembly) mounting bolts (???)
3. wheel lugs (95-100 ft. lbs.?)

Please, anyone?

- Lug nut torque of 100 ft. lbs sounds typical. Your Owner Manual should have those numbers.
- Torque for the caliper brackets is 125 ft. lbs for Generation 4. If the bolt head size is greater than 3/4" (lug nut size), then 125 should work fine.
- Torque for the guide pins is 26 ft. lbs for Generation 4 as you know. If these tighten against a collar, then tighten them up until movement stops plus a little strain thereafter.

You can always snug them up later on, if needed, once you get the actual specs. Most people, including Mechanics, don't bother with torque wrenches for these fasteners (and most other fasteners for that matter except where it matters most - cylinder heads, wheels, etc). I will take a look at Chilton online, through a local library, to see what I find.

Additions:
Chilton/2008 Rear: 26 ft. lb. for the pins, nothing given for the bracket.

2008 Owner Manual - Page 422: 95 ft. lbs. for lug nuts. Most people use 100 ft. lb. Some even use 120 ft. lb. to be overly safe. I don't recommend that though.

i think there was a thread on that issue. i think some got them changed under the warranty. now i think u needed to be with in a certain miles aswell.
