let me start with this is not my van im trying to help a co-worker who is 75 he has been bringing his van to a local mechanic ...

2006 with 39k with recent tune up ....also the alternator was replaced with a new one a week ago, so yesterday the battery light turned on so he brought it in to get checked and they could not figure out why the light was on so the alternantor was replaced again for good measure and so was the vss, the cluster was also reset but now the speedometer is not working...any idea on what the problem might be any help will be greatly apperciated....the mechanic is telling the guy to buy a new cluster is this a common problem
