Default '01 Caravan has A/C problem

Just picked up a '01 Caravan with 61,000 original miles according to autocheck from a small private dealer. Everything seems to run good except when I turn on the A/C it only blows warm air. I can hear a clicking sound from the motor and I put a gauge on the low side hose and it shows in the RED and states there is a problem to see a mechanic to have it serviced. I'm going to check the fuse later tonight but is there anything else I can check to avoid a costly trip to the mechanic?

Also it didn't come with a factory keyless remote and from what I've read hear on the forum I must go to the dealer to have 1 programed to the vehicle?

Are there anything else I should check on a 61,000 mile vehicle in terms of regular maintenance, I already checked the air filter, spark plugs look good with .050 gap, all fluids look good, except maybe the brake fluid is a bit dirty and could use a change, tires need replacing looks like the original Goodyear tires, I want to check the brake pads and the rear has a drum style brake so does this van have ABS cuz i thought only 4 wheel disc comes with ABS? If it does have ABS is there a special proceedure to change shoes on the rear drum? I've done brake jobs before but only on a non ABS vehicle.

Thanks for the reply.

What does in the red mean? High pressure or no pressure. '01 vans are known for blowing compressors and holes in the condenser.

I don't believe drum brake equipped vehicles had abs but you can check for a sensor in the rear hub on the back side. Shoe removal would be the same either way.

It is possible your van is not equipped with RKE, send me a PM with the last nine of your vin and I can tell you for sure.
