I have a 2008 Caravan that the rear liftgate will no longer open with either the power option, or manually. I have removed the rear interior panel, but can not figure out how to get the latch to release. I can't remove the latch assembly without the hatch being open, as it is screwed in from the bottom. I've searched for diagrams/instructions that might help, but haven't been able to locate anything.

Does anyone know how to get the hatch to release? I would rather not pay the dealer $100 just for him to tell me that the hatch won't open. I really need to get this figured out quickly.

You might try lock lubricant in the hatch lock..worked for me..on my 2005.Also I disconnected neg.cable on battery for ten minutes and reattached.I also keep losing power feature on hatch back..
