Sliding door isn't really locked..
We'll hit lock on the key fob (we had dodge install an auto start after purchase is the only think post factory) and it'll beep it's locked. The front driver/passenger doors lock and it sounds like the back does as well. HOWEVER, if you pull on the sliding door handle- it opens no problem.
Suggestions? When my kids go to play int he back I've found them often in the van and it's not safe!
Thanks!

what yr is the van?
and please clearify a little bit, so when you press the Power LOCk button on the Driver's door, does the Latch on the sliding door MOVE? and when you LOCK it, Automatically and Manually, can you open the door from the outside?
well, There is a Child safety latch you can pop with a screw driver, so the door can only be only on the outside. The lever should be on the sliding door latch with the word "Lock" and "unlock" on it.

Sorry. 2010 grand caravan. We all exit the car. I hit lock with the keyfob, I see/hear te doors lock. However I can walk up to the sliding doors and pull te handle and they'll open as if they were never locked. It's like even if I hit the lock it doesn't matter because all you have to do is pull the sliding door handle and the doors open even though the driver and passenger doors still remain locked. Does that clarify?
Does the Button on the Driver's door master switch lock the sliding door? if it does. I think your problem is software related, and Dodge has new Software update for this concern. you'll need to hit the dealership.
If even the driver's door and passenger door switch doesnt work(lock the sliding door), then you have some problem. Most of the time it is the door latch that fails. And replacing a door latch on those sliding door is fairly time consuming...
