Default Need info on adding UConnect to 2011 Grand Caravan

I just picked up a 2011 Grand Caravan Crew Package with 30K on the clock. It has the 430/RBZ stereo but no UConnect. I'd like to learn what it will take to add it so I can use bluetooth, etc. Also, what is my radio capable of now? Will it play DVD's? Can I add rear DVD with an aftermarket screen? Is there anyway to add NAV to this head unit?

Thanks in advance! I hope you guys can fill me in! (Part number for the proper UConnect module would be great if possible!)

If you are looking at adding Navi anyway, look at selling your radio and buying a (high speed) RHR mygig. It will have the uconnect brains built into it, as well as GPS. If you have satellite radio already, than the GPS is plug and play (it uses the satellite antenna)

The only thing that you would then have to add would be the uconnect mic kit which is $30 (Or try and find the mirror and wire harness)

Interesting...I imagine that the RHR MyGig is fairly pricey! Would this swap have to be flashed by a dealer or is it 100% plug and play?

If you wanted to just add Uconnect to the RBZ radio, you'd need the Mopar kit PN 82212159 and the iPod / USB cable PN 82212160.
In either case, switching to the 730N or just adding Uconnect, it will require the reflashing of the vehicle.
Adding the 730N would be a plug N play besides the running of the added mic.

I've done 2 mygig retrofits so far, one in a 2007 Caliber and one in a 2011 Caravan. Neither required the dealer.

The idea is to find a RHR and then sell your RBZ to try and recoup some of the $$$ spent.

Yeah...I think I'll settle for just the UConnect! The RHR is a little out of my price range right now, even If I were to sell my RBZ! I'll just stick with my trusty Garmin Nuvi for nav.

Having to get the vehicle flashed isn't needed to make Uconnect function in this application. However, the reason for having it done is so that the CAN BUS network knows what is all online so it doesn't throw any DTC's that may throw a tech off if he's looking at a different issue and pulling DTC's withthe scan tool.
Now however, if a person is adding a Uconnect kit to a vehicle, then the vehicle does need to be flashed. If it's not, then the vehicle doesn't know that you now have Uconnect and the CAN BUS network will not turn the module on so that it can function.

Where the flashing and chaning the radio codes would come in handy is if you had the vehicle at the dealer for some issue, they would see the DC that was thrown because the Uconnect module wasn't online. So a tech may start chasing that as an issue when really it wasn't. So it's not that the new radio wouldn't work, it's more to save possible issues inn the future.

I am also looking to add uconnect to a 2011 with the rzb radio i'm assuming if you press the phone button and it give a uconnect error i dont have it? All that is needed is the 82212159 part number kit and since i have sat radio should be able to bluetooth to my phone and nav also? someone had wrote about getting a rear view mirror with the mic built in does anyone know what part number that would be?
