Default 03 tranny filter question

This is my first filter replacement and have a question about the filter installation. I noticed the old filter "snapped" out...the two plastic guides seem to be all that held the neck/o-ring up against the transmission. I'm assuming the reverse would be correct....the two guide pins "snapping" is all that holds the filter neck/o-ring in place?

Attached is a pic of what my pan looked liked, two small metallic shavings (circled) and a dirty magnet.
Would this be of any concern?

I wouldn't be happy about metal shavings in the pan, but this IS a Caravan and if you are still on your original transmission then you got the expected life out of it. As long as the trans computer is not throwing codes, you don't beat on the van and you continue to take care of it I doubt you have impending trans failure. Really hard to say with these transmissions, they just seem to fail at random at times.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
