Question 2001 transmisson no rev.. only low

I have a 2001 Grand Caravan 3.8 liter v6 about 157,000 miles. The other day i was driving about 40mph the car jerked then went fine about 50 feet... then it went out of gear and i started "coasting". It wouldn't go into any gear. When it finally stopped I turned the car off and then back on and everything was fine for about 100 yards.....then it started "coasting" again. When I got home about 2 miles later. ..I went through all the gears and noticed that reverse wasnt working. We pulled code P0700 by turning the key off on off on 3 times on the trip. We disconnected the battery and cleared the curcit....cleaned all connections TCM and others..checked the EATX relay... and put new fluid and a bottle of LUCAS Fix in... changed the filter. When taking the pan off there was some shavings but no big "chunks". The p0700 code went away but now had p1684.. no biggie because we had the battery off. After doing all this the van still wont go in reverse...will only stay in drive or 3rd until I hit right over 5mph....however in low I can now drive a little longer before it "coasts".Your can hear a noise when its trying to go into a gear... but in reverse there is no noise or anything. When you put it into drive and it "coasts" to a stop you can actually see the tires pushing slightly like they its trying to go in gear. Not sure what would be the next "fesible" thing to try before I have to either get rid of the car or have to put down money for a new or used tranny. The input and output speed sensors? Someone said something about a wire splice Crystlar used for the tranny, eatx relay, and tcm....havent been about to find it... Any help is appreciated! Thank You.

You should not have reset the P0700 code. That code means the TCM - your transmission computer - has stored a fault code. These codes can't be read by a typical scanner. A dealership or transmission shop can read transmission codes. I'd recommend you try to get the code to repeat then figure out how to get the van to a shop to read the code or get a capable scanner to your van.
