Default Check Engine Light

OK, I know I can go to Auto Zone to find out what's going on etc. But can someone tell me very simply: how do I turn it off? Is it necessary to replace parts to turn it off or is it just a switch or procedure I can perform? I have about three days left with a '94 Grand Caravan and don't want to spend more money on it. I feel since I just hit 120,000 that it may be related to the mileage. (2 x 60,000 miles) . Could use fast advice. Thanks in advance.

You can try to unhook the battery for about 15 minutes, that should clear it out, otherwise you would have to use a code reader to shut it off.

Just so everyone knows, AutoZone told me that they couldn't run check engine diagnostics on a car older than '96.

ODB2 became the standard around that time, and their code readers are probably limited to that.
