Hey guys check engine light came on and took it to the auto parts store and they told e its a P0401 EGR System Failure. Im new to a dodge caravan and have no idea where the egr valve is located also i noticed something hissing or making a whistle noise i took some pictures of where its coming from for you guys, i have downloaded a 1996 service manual online but are the egr valves the same on the 96 as they are on the 99? Any input would be great.

 

EGR valve is just to the left and below the brake master cylinder (where you add brake fluid)

You took a picture of the Positive Crankcase Valve (PCV). I'd suggest changing the valve and the hoses. They are in rough shape.
