Default Stuck air filter cover

Hi again, I have a 1996 Dodge grand caravan 3.3L. Does anyone know if there is some trick to getting the top cover off the air cleaner. I took out the 2 obvious bolts. Is there something else that holds it on that I don't see. I tapped on it with a rubber hammer but don't want to hit it any harder before asking someone that knows. I felt all around underneath the edge where the top and bottom mate up and don't feel any kind of locking tabs or anything. I thank you in advance for any help you can give. Terry

Changing the air filter? That black box that says "Remove to service air filter element below" does not have the air filter in it. You can't open it. You have to remove that entire box to get at the air filter housing below it. On the air filter housing loosen up the 3 inch air duct then just pop the two spring clips on the aft edge, pivot the lid forward and off she comes. The air filter is now visible.

WOW, thank you Cougar 41. I would have probably found it after an hour or more, filled with a bunch of 4 letter words. It was very easy job thanks to you and this site. I'm sure I will be back here in a week or so, I'm going to tackle changing the plugs and wires. Looks like the rear 3 plugs are going to be a pain in the butt. I will do a search on here to see if there is any tips for getting them out on this 3.3L engine.
Thaks again, Terry

Practice up on those 4 letter words for the rear plugs, especially if you have rear a/c.
