2003 Dodge caravan sport 3.3 2wd.

Speedo is bouncing so the van will clunk into 2nd gear while sitting. We have had the speedo sender unit replaced before, so might have gone bad again.

Is there a way to try to temporarily reset the limp mode? I am taking the van to a shop to get looked at and would prefer not doing it in 2nd gear. Thanks....

 

You can disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes to reset the code but if you have a hard fault the code and malfunction will return. In other words, no. Just keep your speed under 50 and you should be ok.

 

Thanks, I guess that might do it and got me to the shop not stuck in 2nd.

Replaced sensor, and it was fine for 15 miles, and then right back to where I was at before....sigh.

Trans shop taking a look at it today.
