I purchased a used 2012 Grand Caravan, Crew edition.
There was a hitch installed, so I tought that would be perfect to tow the popup camping trailer that I am planning to buy.
Now, with my VIN number, I was looking to see if I had that "towing package", and all I found is that mine came with :
Heavy Duty Transmission Oil Cooler
Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
Heavy Duty Radiator
730-Amp Maintenance-Free Battery
160-Amp Alternator.
and so on...
Now, I am not sure if that hitch is one from the factory. Probably not.
My vehicule was made in sept. 2011, and the Hitch shows a manufacturing date of jan 2012.
The thing that is bugging me is that there is no connector for the lights of the trailer.
Here are a few pictures.
The square beam is inserted, on each side, to a metal plate that is bolted directly on the frame.
Now, does anyone on the forum had towed a popup camping trailer with a recent Grand Caravan ?
They are rated for a maximum of 3600 lbs trailer and 360 lbs on the tongue.
I am looking for a 10 feet popup, and they normaly weights about 2000 lbs.
I want to visit grand canyon next june. From canada, that will be a long trip. I don't want to be in trouble.
