Default Pondering Purchase

So I hope I found a deal here! I just need another opinion.

2002 Grand Caravan Sport
Blue on Blue (not fond if that color)
182k

The seller thinks its the fuel injector. He says when you step on the gas, you can smell gas inside the van. Is this an easy job? Could I do it myself, or send it to someone? Now I know its high miles, is there anything else I should look for? He said he HASNT changed the serpentine belt yet (I need to do that before its too late). However, he DID change spark plugs, plugs and wires, and kept up with oil changes. Is this a deal, or should I keep looking? Thanks!

Well we don't know the price so can't tell you if it's a deal. I bought my 02 with a bad transmission for $800. Don't know the engine size but injector's shouldn't be a problem on any of the engines. When you say serpentine belt do you mean timing belt? On either belt make sure you replace the tensioner assemblies and idler pulleys while you are at it.

He's asking 1200 obo, but i think I'm going to low ball him. And yes, I meant timing belt. I think that's the first think I need to change before something catastrophic happens!

If it's got the 3.3 or 3.8 ltr engine it uses a timing chain meant to last the life of the van.
