Question break light

My 2001 dodge caravan the break light comes on once in a while. The dealer said it is the emergency break which they disconnected along time ago.The tech said ,"With the cut backs on street repair things gets bumped around" Am I being "taken" for a ride or what?

2 things that will make (just) that light come on. E-brake switch or the level sensor on the master cylinder. Keep in mind your fluid level will drop as your pads/shoes wear down.

What in the world could you have done to break your brake light? Have you checked your blinker fluid?

Talking break light

I didn't do anything to the breaking system. The light kept coming on one day and the dealer disconnected the emergency break. The fluid is fine. The dealer
said with the cut backs in the roads being repaired things get knocked around they couldn't find the problem. One tech thought it was electrical which would cost more than the value of the van to find out and it would cost mucho bucks.I am just glad I have this group to give me straight answers and logical insight. Thanks
