no go
we have a 2000 dodge caravan sport my wife drove it to work got to work and then it would not move in any gear shut it of and turned it back on and it moved a couple of feet and nothing there was a little high pitch grinding noise i think it may be the torque converter looked at the tranny fluid it looks fine.how big of a job is it to replace the torque converter at home
This sounds similar to the problem I had a few months back with my 96 Grand Caravan 3.3 litre ...it ended up being a bad transmission shift solenoid unit (which CAN be changed at home (torque converter requires pulling the transmission out). I'd start with a transmission fluid flush and change (filter as well) ...then run some SeaFoam TransTune in the new fluid. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you could consider replacing the shift solenoid unit. You could also check the other related solenoids that operate the trans shift functions. Got a manual??
