Bear with me..... I am back with one more question.
If I should decide to go with no sensors on this 09 Caravan, can the dealer disable the warning system so that the light stays off?

No, TPMS was introduced, and now required by Department of Transpoirtation due to the Ford Exploder incident a decade ago.
