4.0 v6
We love ours. A 2010 SXT . We get great mileage, aveageing about 17 in town and 24 highway, which is way beter than our 05 SXT. It had the 3.8 with a 4 speed automatic, I think the 6 speed really helps out on fuel consumption.
Looks like things haven't changed much in 16 years in regards to mpgs. My 96 with the 3.8ltr and 4 speed transmission is getting 23/17 and it's got 211k miles on the odo. I would expect better news.

You have to be 110% dedicated to ultimate fuel mileage and never wander off the path or you'll always negate any gains. I get 19MPG mixed and well into the 20's at ~60MPH in my van. (All measurements in US not Imperial).
Newer vans CAN get better mileage, although the .8L and 4.0L are not meant to be fuel savers. You just have to drive for fuel mileage all the time.

we have a 2010 sxt 4.0L and i honestly don't like it. my parents had a 3.8L in a 08 and it had more power, get up and go than ours and it got way better fuel mileage. Our van's moto was replaced at 13k due to a unrepairable oil leak. We average13.5-14 around town and when we go to pittsburgh and back we are lucky to max at 21-23mpg depending on load or if we need the AC or defrosters. I had higher expectations out of this with the reports i read before we bought it.
