Default 98 GC - No rear left turn signal?

When I activate the left turn signal it flashes fast like a bulb is out. Left front lights up, rear doesn't. Removed rear bulb, not burned. Replaced it anyway with a new one. Still flashes fast and the rear doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks for your help...

UPDATE: I pulled the connector off the tail light assembly and checked for voltage at while the turn signal was on. Nothing. The tail lights work fine (including the left double filament bulb with the turn signal in it). There are no blown fuses. Man, this has me stumped.
I hope it's not a broken wire somewhere. Any help is appreciated...

This sounds like a bad turn signal switch. If the wiring to the lights is properly functioning and no fuses are blown.. there is a large chance that it is the switch.

...except the single switch contact for the turn sigs powers both from and rear and the front is working.

Not sure if it's power or ground but the combination flasher module controls it to the turn signal lights. If it's ground that may explain why you're not seeing voltage - I assume at pin #1. Try comparing voltages at your working light. Before replacing it try removing the cover and retouching the solder joints securing the external contacts to the circuit board. New combo flashers cost ~ $50. Need a wiring diagram? Send me a PM with an email address included.

If you have a trailer lights kit installed remove it.

UPDATE: Fixed it. Confirmed that there was no voltage at the left hand turn signal pin while activated. Right hand pin intermittent when flashing (normal). Figured I'd check connections at the interior fuse box. Pulled the flasher and reseated it. Now it works. When I pulled it I noticed that the flasher was sitting a little loose and crooked, so it must have been just enough to break connection with the left side but not the right. I'm glad because the flasher is expensive for this vehicle.

Anyway, thanks for your help Cougar. I sent you a PM for the diagram, and if you wouldn't mind sending it I'd appreciate it. Might come in handy. I like this van but the transmission and random electrical issues have been the biggest problems. Thanks again...

Just sent the diagram. There is a note with it.

Looks like the flasher got bumped somehow. Glad to hear it turned out to be a simple fix. If the problem returns consider the retouch suggestion. I recently had to do the same to a combo flasher killing all the turn sigs. Both left and right would make the dash light stay on with no flash. Retouched the solder joints and it's been fine since. I hate to think of the thousands out there who have needlessly forked over $50 and more for a new flasher when there was a free fix at hand.
