Cold Weather = Bad Wheel Sensors?
I have an '08 Caravan SXT. The snow and cold weather moved in and now my tire pressure, traction control, and ESP lights are all coming on. Does cold weather cause this, because I've checked all my tires and they are all @ 35 PSI. The van just turned 90,000 miles. Is this the mileage that Dodge told the computer to fail all the sensors at once so you have to take it to the dealer? I find it funny that all at once I now have problems with all the tire and wheel sensors.
You more than likely do not have a problem with all the sensors. If one of those systems has a problem it will shut them all down as they won't function correctly without each other. More than likely one of the batteries in the tire pressure monitors is weak and the cold weather put it over the edge. Surely you have had the tires replaced by now. The sensors should have been serviced at that time but most chain tire places don't mess with them unless there is a known problem.
A dealer or good tire place can scan the TPMS sensors to see if they're working. Takes a few minutes to do and most tire places will do it for free. Usually if there is a fault in the TPMS system receivers the dash light will flash.
For the rest of it, do you know someone with a good scanner to find the trouble codes. These won't be OBDII codes so an upscale scanner will be required.
