Default 2002 caravan sport 3.3l transmission slipping.

Van was running fine until yesterday. Stopped at intersection and waited for green light. All of sudden I felt a little clunk. Didn't think nothing until green light and tried to accelerate. All I did was rev up and didn't move anywhere. Suddenly it gave a little squeal and it grabbed and now it was in gear and moving again. But as I was going it would seem to slip out f gear and rev up again( cause I was giving it gas). It just kept doing this until it became real bad where now it won't move at all. I've tried every gear, even reverse. I try to rev it up and see if it would grab again, but it won't anymore. Now I hear something knocking around . this sounds stupid but does this tranny have a belt? It's a good van, but I don't have the money to put it n the shop here. Anyone have any ideas?

No belt in the tranny. Is the check engine light on? If the fluid level is good you'll have to have a shop look at it to check for fault codes and make any further diagnosis.

Yeah the fluid level is good, and yes the check engine light is on. Time to call the auto wreckers to come pick up. Can't afford to put in shop.
