Engine Code PO456 and remote starting....
All,
My 2010 Grand Caravan just started getting an MIL PO456 (Small Evap Leak). I understand that, but my wife went to use the remote start function on the key FOB and the car starts, and runs for about 10 - 15 seconds then stops. Is this totally unrelated to the MIL code, or is there some type of function that kills the remote start if a MIL code is detected? If it is started with the FOB in the ignition, it runs fine. It only stops after a remote start.

remote start is related to CEL.
If there is a CEL, remote start will not function. It is programmed to prevent damage to engine. you owners manual will explain everything that can cause remote start to shut off, such as hood is open, CEL on, Low fuel, etc...
You need to fix the CEL. Most likely you will need a ESIM switch, but you have to test the EVAP system to know for sure.

Are you saying that a CEL light on 5th gen vans, no matter what is causing it, will keep you stuck in the driveway? I hope I'm missing something.

But if you got a key in the ignition cylinder, of course you can drive it.
Looks like I was "reading between the lines" again. Thanks for clearing that up steak.

Not really, I think it is a good option. that way you don't blow up ur engine is the CEL is for something like Low Oil, engine over heat, or maybe run the gas tank dry.
