Default Adding Power Rear Vent Windows- 2012 Caravan

Hello All: Earlier this year, I bought a 2012 Grand Caravan. It's the "Canada Value Package" model, and as such does not come with power operated rear vent windows. At the time, I didn't think it was a big deal, but I've discovered that it's something that I really miss (My '98 Windstar had them). Does anybody know if the wiring is in place to add power window motors? Obviously I would have to replace the control panel in the driver's armrest, too. I know I could just remove the trim and see, but I'd rather not remove any plastic more times than is necessary.

Can't help with the wire harness but looking at 2008 wiring diagrams, the closest I can get to a 2012 but the same generation, shows the rear vent windows are not in the data bus circuit. That's a good thing. If they were you would have to either have the BCM reprogrammed or replaced. On 2012s I believe the BCM is integrated into the EVIC making it an even pricier proposition. I would still try to make sure that applies to your 2012.

Thanks very much for the reply. I think I'll gently peel off a panel and have a look. I'm hoping it's as simple as getting a pair of actuators, a new control unit, pop in a fuse, and away you go. But it's usually never quite that easy....

I peeled the quarter panel off to replace a Manual Lever today, there was no unused connectors behind it. Unless it was strapped way down at the bottom, I think you are out of luck.
Also, The rear power vent is directly controlled by Master switch, no module in between. However, the Master switch connector are different between the Base Model and Loaded model Caravan. I think the whole Door wiring harness is different.

If you want the power vent bad enough, I am sure you can run your own wire with an aftermarket switch. Tho, it will be A LOT of work.

Fwiw I just added them to my Value Edition. Motors with a bit of wire from donor vehicle, swap armrest to have the switch, gut it and install a DPDT switch, ran a wire to back vents to power them from door, wired to the switch, ran fused connection from switched power port in console into the door to power it. Cost about $50 cdn for the bits and I already had the donor van for the motors and arm rest.
