My 2003 Grand Caravan fuel gauge has been inaccurate since we bought it last year. We can’t trust it below a ¼ tank or 45 miles DTE. We do the basic math when we fill up and figure our usage off the odometer. So last night we run to the store. It said we had 63 DTE. When we got back from what is a 4 mile trip we watched the readout drop to 12 DTE. I filled it up this AM with 15 gal that meant it had at least a ¼ tank left. Is there a way to recalibrate the sensor from the sending unit?

 

No but you can test the accuracy of the gauge with a cluster self test. Trouble is I don't remember how that's done on a 4th generation van. Maybe someone will jump in with the info.
