Default 06 caravan, extended crank, fuel smell, engine code

Hi again,

My 06 grand caravan has been acting up.
The check eng light started coming on 3 months ago and was an intermittent thing.
it was a little hard starting after it sat a while, but not on cold start.
now it is all the time and I can smell fuel near the middle of the van when it starts.
if I shut it off and start it right back up its fine, but if it sits 10 mins, it cranks a long time and then I get the smell.
the code was for a misfire on #6, but it never really skips.

Any help would be great
thanks

Good chance you have an injector leaking fuel. So you shut it off warm, the injector leaks fuel into the cylinder and floods it out. That's where the hard start and the smell come from. By the next morning it is gone and no problem. Not guarenteed it's cyl 6 but good place to start. Just pull the fuel rail and turn it over. Turn the key on a couple of times to pressurize the rail and look for fuel leaking out. They should all stay dry.

Thanks for the direction.
It wasnt doing it in the mornings, but now is.
I just pulled all the plugs to have a look and cyl # 6 spark plug looks differnt from the others.. Very clean, but center electrode is worn right down.
The other 5 are a little dark, but not worn. odd?
BTW, this is a 3.8 with 62,000
Do you of a DIY area for pulling the rail?

The one plug is clean from being washed with gas. I will send DIY to your PM
